Recap of Trip

After several days on the road, fellowship with old and new friends, we are finally home. We had good size crowds for all the churches. Last night, we closed out at Ceder Ridge Christian Church where Chris Keith and Brryan Jackson both shared their testimonies. Chris (lost his whole family at age 5 and was shot in the head) brought his family with him to share the wonderful grace of God for his first time last night. He and Brryan both did a really good job.

As everyone was leaving, an older man and his daughter came up to me and Joe and began to share what God had done for them in the past weeks. It turns out that her dad left her family when she was three. At some point, he and his friend killed and then threw someone off a bridge. He spent several years in prison only to get out more recently for Battered Child Syndrome. Less than two weeks ago, he made a facebook, found his 1 out of 10 children and they met in Tulsa for the concert last night. He has been clean since 1993 he says. Just goes to show how powerful God really is.

After dinner with the minister at 11:30 last night, Brryan reminded my dad of how he need a post card for his collection. After three quick trips, a Target and a Walmart, we finally decided to skip it. In doing so, we got lost in Tulsa for 2 more hours. Once finally on the right highway, we stopped at a Flying J and found him a post card. We left Tulsa at 1:45.
Overall, its been a great trip. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for the future!

Day 3

Howdy...

Friday I got back from an incredible week of camp. Saturday morning, we leaft for Joplin Mo. I learned so much from Matt Miles in the creation truth ministry who tought on creation. For worship each night One Way Carravan lead us all in worship then Brian Mills closed out each night with awesome sermons. Overall, I was really refueled at this week of camp. I can't belive we are in the first offical week of summer! I miss camp...

Today we did worship at Carterville Christian Church. Two services this morning and a concert tonight. Its been a fun trip so far and we are not even half way done! Last night we ate at the Sigars house. Tonight Brryan did a great job at sharrng his testimony. He has come a long way already! We Leave tomorrow for Tulsa, OK. Prayers would be apreciated!

This is the church before the service started. Such an awesome building.

All of us afterward.

Yesterday, Joe Slavich, Caleb Chesnut and I went out into St Charles to film random people on the question "What is God to you?" for a video he is making for this Sunday morning. I was excited to do this because I had never interviewed people before. I also looked forward to seeing what people really believed and saw God as.

As we received many various answers, the hardest part of the whole trip was 1. finding people and 2. getting their answers because they "didn't have time" or want to be on camera. It amazes me how different of an answer we would get when we say we are with a church.

Going in to it, I didn't know what to expect. I figured people would turn us down. I also thought we would get answers like, "God is not real" and so on. People did turn us down but we received no bad answers. Majority of the answers were "God is my saviour" or "God is great."

Almost everyone we talked who took the time to talk to us, had something good to say and acted kind and friendly. It really puzzled me of how many people made such a big deal out of this little question as if they would be on National TV.

We came across one kid who didn't believe in God and his brother who said he was agnostic. A girl we talked to gave us the answer "God is who" leaving me speechless but then she explained she didn't believe in any religion and meant who is God I guess. It seemed like a lot of people would studder to answer and majority who did would throw in the awkward "I even go to church every Sunday and can't think of anything."

Everyone we talked to today gave us a little more specifics of their faith. Some gave more details than others. Majority of the people gave us Bible School answers probably because we said we were with a church. We considered not saying anything about church and Joe even considered saying we were with an atheist organization. Joe never got to that and somehow church always came up no matter what.

I saw the finished video and it looks really nice. I look forward to seeing what God can do with this video.

Greetings,

Today, I finished season three of 24. I am disappointed with the ending so now I wait for season four. (tomorrow) That's how my week went.

My Air conditioner went out today. Luckily tomorrow is the hottest day so far. So we are not worried at all...

On another note, the new hillsong united CD, I love it. I burned it out last week though. I must have heard the whole thing a total of 30 times. Not exaggerating either. Tomorrow I am taking a break. Tuesday, the new crowder single should be released so I'm pumped for that. "How He Loves" is what it is called.

Changing The Way We Use Technology?

I saw this like a year ago and saved it. I don't remember when it comes out but it would have to be expensive. It is called Microsoft Surface. The new way to use a computer.

Video of the Week (Rockumentary 2)

This is the video of the week. David Crowder's new band documentary. Funniest ever! If for some reason you decide to close it out before the end, head over to the very last minute and watch it.

Oh You Bring

This is my first favorite song on the new Hillsong United Album. Check it out."Oh You Bring"

Monday, May 25, 2009

This extended weekend has been awesome. Although I have never puked this many times and still don't feel very good, its been good.

Yesterday, I began season three of 24. Yes it is freaking awesome.

Last night, I got the chance to hear the new United Album. It is incredibly awesome. Tear down the walls enters stores worldwide tomorrow. So awesome.

Diet Plan Week Two: Here we go! This last week has been dreadful.

Today my family and I went out to High Hill Camp to spend some time with our friends and fellowship. As the day continued on, my sister and her friends hogged the fourwheelers the whole time so I am like, "Hey lets get the golfcart and drive around camp!" So long story short, I nearly get the golfcart stuck in the lake fully covering my friend and I in mud forcing us to pull the golf cart out. It was a lot of fun. Now, I know what your thinking, "I why did I just spend 19 minutes reading this horible story?" Here is why, because you did not get a golf cart stuck in a lake.
So there you have it. Happy Memorial day!

Cow Tipping

Greetings.
So yesterday I worked at the good ol chicken restaurant. I look on the schedule of where I am supposed to work for the lunch hour. I didn't see my name on the usual cashier slot where they normally place me. Instead, I finally found my name under the COW slot. Yes, they asked me to be in the giant 8 foot cow suit. Normally I would be like, "YES! finally the funnest job at chick-fil-a!" But yesterday, I was really sick and could not handle it so they just asked me to be the handler. (the guy who stands next to the cow while on Boones crossing.) Now, why would we have a Handler when the cow is just dancing in front of thousands of cars passing by during the lunch rush? Here is why.

Around three weeks ago, Chick-Fil-A cows would just stand on the Boones Crossing exit by themselves. (no handler) One day, one of my co workers was the cow and long story short, The police and Ambulance were called due to the long lived tradition of COW TIPPING. Yes. Cow tipping. Some guy and his friends thought it would be funny while sitting at the Boones Crossing intersection to get out and ambush the 8 foot tall cow. Doing so, The cow lied in the middle of the road for several minutes before he was helped out and then the police finally came. So now we need the Handler.

Day 3

So Monday at 2:30, my mom tells me, "Zachary, I am going on a diet. You are gonna do it too." I said, "NO." She says, "its cool, the only catch is after three, you can't eat anymore carbs. Only protein" So I agreed. Monday night around 7:30, I went to McDonald's and simply told my friend Joe, "I will start tomorrow." He laughed in my face.

Tuesday came. I worked from 11:00-3:00 at chick-fil-a. At 3:17 i decided I would move the diet to 4:00 instead of 3:00 since I get off work at 3:00 now and I want to eat my free meal they give me. After 4:00 last night, I ate no more carbs though. Then I threw up for 2 minutes last night at 11:45 so I don't know whats going on.

So today, is Wednesday (just so you know) and I will attempt to actually succeed through my new diet. I will post how much weight I have 1. Lost or 2. Gained everyday.
Starting at 185 my goal is 150 by August.
Wish me luck.

Lost Theorys and Opinions

So after the two season finally of LOST last night, I have some theory's and questions I would like to share. The show itself was awesome. They did a great job of having a two hour finally and not answering ONE SINGLE question.

1. Why are there two John Lockes? Obviously the real one is dead so who is this other guy wanting to kill Jacob? Is it the guy at the very beginning of the episode who wanted to kill him? Or are John and Jacob related in some way?

2. In 2010, where will the survivors be? I really feel like they will have moved in time, but there is no way they can land in LA because there is a WHOLE nother season left. Maybe they will take off for LA from Sydney when they originally did in 2004 but they crash and remember bits and pieces?

3. Where is Arron? I think Jacob maybe Had something to do with it.

4. Where is Claire and is Jack's father really on the island?

5. There were literally like 8 different time frames last night in lost. You would think they would overlap each other and what happened then is changing now.

6. The people that had John Locke's dead body, who are they?

7. Did anyone notice when Jacob (in the flashbacks) visited all the main survivors it was during the climax of their lives in the show? (Marriage, Death, A first successful surgery, Falling out of a huge building and surviving only to find destiny ect...)

8. Who is Jacob? Does anyone think that he portrays God? I got the vibe as he was visiting everyone.

9. What was the loophole that "John"found?

10. Are Daniel and Sayid dead?

11. What happened to Miles' dad? Is he still alive? If he is, will he change history for Miles?

12. Now for the ending: It was great although I am incredibly ticked that they answered no questions. What does everyone else think? Facebook or email or call me with your theory's or more questions!

My Mom.

This past week has been crazy. This morning was the typical service that we have on Sunday mornings other than the fact that we had no sermon.
Instead, we had two moms come up and share their testimonies. It was cool to see my friends' moms get up there and share their passion for God and their love for their kids. It got me thinking. I have life pretty good. My mom is actually the best mom of 2009. (I will challenge anyone on that)
I really take my parents for granted. They love me unconditionally.
Dave Mehrle said this morning, The love of our mothers is the closest of unconditional love, that the love of God will ever be. My mom really cares about me and would do anything for me. It is is so easy for us to forget all of the nice little acts of kindness our moms show us each day. I love my mom.
Happy Mothers Day!

Worship

Greetings.
Today, we continued our quest through ACTS called "echo." We talked about Paul and Silas in the prison and it really got me thinking, when something bad comes my way, I am not always there to praise God and worship him. I know its bad but it is true. I sometimes find myself wanting to blame him, but at the same time, I understand that bad things happen and road blocks in my life will continue to occur and can only make my faith in God stronger. If I went to jail, (better be for something cool) I really think it would be hard to worship in there. Imagine singing and praising God as your cell mate yells "Shut up! **cuss word here and there** or I will stab you! **more cuss words**" something like that. I think I would find my self praying silently and that it is. Bringing the question back to me from this morning.
How do we worship fully?

One of my favorite quotes from this morning was "Worship must be based on truth. Not what we want God to be."

Then my friend Kyle just sent me a tweet on twitter saying "what happens if the truth is what we want it to be and not what God wants it to be? How do we find truth?"
I honestly don't know. I guess my own opinion is that the Bible is our truth. If we are following something other than the Bible, then all sorts of other truths come to the table. Hope someone will contact me with better info in this topic.

The Big Idea (chapter one)

Yesterday, I began reading a book called "The Big Idea." While I am only on chapter two, I have learned so much on leadership and the fact that the church focuses so much on all these little concepts throughout the service and weekly programs. Dave Ferguson uses the following as an example in the first chapter....
"After church on the way home, the most frequently asked question by parents to their children is 'So what did you learn today?' and they most likely reply with 'umm...(Silence) umm...(More Silence)' never really knowing what to say. But what if the kids asked the parents the same question?" Every service, we are bombarded with all of these different little lessons when in fact if we had one and stuck with it, an answer might come to thought.

So far, "the big idea" Ferguson touches on is, "follow me" (referring to Jesus) Jesus did not call us to be Christians. He did not call us to have all of these Bible Studies and get stronger as a church together. Jesus was not a Christian, he did not build churches with steeples, He never took up offerings, He never wore religious garments, He never Incorporated for tax purposes. He simply called people to follow him. That's it. I am beginning to realize that our call as Christians is not to make the church bigger. The church is outside the steepled building and parking lot. It is the whole world.

I guess these past few months, I had it in my head that making a difference revolves around more church activities. As my youth minister recently said, "we don't need more Jesus, We need to be Jesus."

Homeschoolers...

Greetings.
So yesterday I had my weekly English class online. My teacher announced that we would have a "Peer Review" (where we read our papers we had just written over the week to the class.) (They are not my peers. I know them through a chat dialogue box thingamajig.) These kids are in fact home schooled. (Not bashing them or anything) They always have their papers revolved around the topic, "why homeschooling is good" "why homeschoolers are not weird" "Why homeschooling should not be illegal." "why abortion should be illegal. Mine are usually something much different than that and I never really seem to get a great grade. The class is hard though. here are some major rules.

1. NO BE VERBS. (am is are was were be being been) throughout the whole paper.
2. No two sentences may begin with the same word in the same paragraph
3. No starting sentences with articles. ( A, AN, THE)
4. I'm done.

Yesterday, during the peer review, she announced my name and I read my paper aloud to the class through a cheap walmart brand microphone that makes me sound like something I don't want to talk about. After each paper my classmates read, she would say something good like "I look forward to grading this. (because she liked it.) After mine, SHE SAID NOTHING. I was thinking "Worlds best teacher mug?" So now I wait anxiously for my paper to come graded in my inbox Thursday night.... :(

Last week, before class, one kid began to criticize twitter... And the class went crazy. They are totally against it. Now those of you who know me understand that my life revolves around twitter and sometimes facebook. (depending who is online)
The kid who brought it up was like, all it is, is a website where you tell everyone what you are doing. It is so stupid. WRONG to a certain point. Now, that is what a lot of people use it for. Back on topic though, I realized as I typed this huge argument i was going to post, "These kids do not know me. All they know is that I write lame papers. They don't know that I like stupid facebook drama. They don't know that I am often sarcastic. They don't know me." So I thought before I made some kids cry, "Hey, what am I doing? They are home schooled. They are confused." so I then held backspace and erased it all. By the end, I watched them all bash twitter and they still have no idea that I use one. Anyone who is reading this, look into GETTING A TWITTER. That is what my class is like. LAME.

This Week

So far, this weekend has been awesome. Last night, I saw Hannah Montana with some of my good friends. (Really good movie) For this past week, everyone has been talking about Obama calling us a Post Christian nation. A few people have asked my oppinion and I think I have finally come up with it.

First of all, my youth minister pointed out to me the question, "were we ever a Christian Nation to begin with?" That answer I will leave to you because I don't know for sure.

Mainly, I see it as, no matter what religion we call our country, our faith is our faith. As long as we have freedom of religion, then why does it matter if we are refered to as "Post Christian?" As long as we as Christians stay strong for what believe is right and wrong, I don't have a problem with him saying that.

Worship Together Conference

Throughout this past week I have gotten to attend one of the best worship conferences ever, I received a really good grade on my mid term exam for English Writing (It is a real class) (My mom has nothing to do with it) and I got to go to chick-fil. Sounds like a great week right?

The conference was awesome because in the afternoon, we got to hear Tim Hughes to a class on Effectiveness in Worship Leading. The class basically ran through the whole set list, who we are leading and ideas as to why the congregation does not respond sometimes. The best thing about that class for me came when he asked "Where do we Recharge?" (After the service) I realized that we go into a huge ordeal of preparation for the service that morning and afterwards, we go home and plan the next set or rest for the day because it is so exhausting.

Al Gordon taught the next class on
What It Means to Be an Authentic Leader
He used the 6 guitar strings as an acronym for
(E) Examine the Heart
-The heart is the wellspring of life
-Worship begins in the heart

(A) Advance Humbly
- If we don't choose humbleness, God will
- Humility does not come on its own
- A really good quote "When we want to criticize worship (a worship team or anything else in worship) Choose to be positive because it is all successful in his eyes

(D) Disciple Yourself
-We are responsible for our own walk
- Most of the greatest leaders in the world spend 50 percent in their own life. Basically, to do an effective ministry, we need to be prepared in our selves first.

(G) God and Relationship
He gave a list of how the ministry priority list should work.
1. God
2. Marriage
3. Your Children
4. Your Work
5. Ministry
Basically I learned if the first four are set in place, number five begins to happen on its own.

(B) Be Holy
"Pride is the cancer to the soul"

(E) Enjoy the Adventure
Basically he said to enjoy the ministry you are serving in.

Since this is so long, I will post the next class by Micheal Grunger tomorrow.

I hate papers

This week has been crazy for me. I have a huge paper that is due in like three days that is not, but almost halfway done. (On of mice and men)

Anyway, once I finish that, I will begin to write more!
This is a random dog I passed by in Italy. I acted like a tourist and asked the lady to take a picture.

A great weekend

Hello everyone. I am officially back home and yes I do have spell check. (hopefully my spelling improves otherwise we have a problem) Friday and Saturday, I attended the Junior high Believe youth conference. (I volunteered) It was really cool just to get to watch over 2,500 kids worship God and just kind of walk down memory lane for when I attended the conference as a student.

Yesterday, I was able to play drums for our student ministry service. Usually, it is pretty hard for me to come before God and just worship with all my heart when I play the drums because there is so much going on and to carry out. Yesterday, turned out way different though. I don't know why, but the whole morning was just really powerful and moving even while I was playing.

We are currently going through a series call "Echo" (A walk through acts) Yesterday, our youth minister talked about witnessing and a quote from him that really hit me hard was "The voice of our peers echos louder in our ears than the voice of God." I also think It is very true that so many teens let what their friends think and do drive the way they live their life. Some other cool points he had were
-An echo needs something to bounce off.
-Peter and John were ordinary unschooled men. (We at least have and continue to have an education)
-Realize not everyone will like you
-“We have become followers of Christ much like we have become followers of our favorite sports team or even the latest reality television show.”

And another direct quote from his sermon
You will face barriers As you strive to Echo your excitement about who Christ is and what He means to you, barriers will be put up by the people around you. There will be questions that you do not have answers too. You will struggle because you make mistakes and those around you will capitalize on them. Peter and John have been put in jail and it was a barrier, as it stopped them from sharing anymore that afternoon.

Every day I can, I will post a random picture from Italy. (I have 1344 so it should be intresting)

Song of the day: Whatever You Want

Planes, trains and Everthing else.

Throughout the last four days, I have had no internet to ramble on here and talk to my friends on facebook. Bari was nice. Kindof like Destin Florida. Nice whether and best of all, no Tourists.

Sunday, we visited the local Christian Church of Bari. (one of the dozens of churches my grandma's dad started)(the Chaplen) the attendance was not greater than maybe 40 people. It is really hard for me to understand why a church started over 60 years ago is still the same amount of people. Due to my curiosity, I discovered many reasons after talking with one of the missionaries I am staying with.

-The country itself has always been a catholic nation. throughout the last 50 years, the catholics have managed to hord all of the gold and riches for the church and share nothing with the country. Litterally every oher corner has a homless person on it. Therefore, because of their lack of intrest in their own country, the Italion way of living has reached the point of hating all religion.

-The people of the Christian church have no money. they can not afford to pay preachers. Therfore, a preacher cannot put the amount of time that is need to invest into the church so it will grow spiritually and physically.

Imagine attending the traditional church service you go to every sunday morning you can. You know how things are? You know the songs and what is going on. This time, the "American Hymns" had been translated into Italion. The sermon was in Italion. They stand up during communion. And it is ALL IN ITALION. I heard one word every now and then and that was "Si" (yes) when the church would agree with him.

It was however really inspiring to see a church of 40 sing louder than our 180 people youth service or many churches I have attended with my family across the country. They come to this hour service and no matter where they are, what has gone wrong, any distractions, they just give it all to God. Although, I understood nothing, I got alot out of it. Now I did forget about trying to understand the sermon and I just read through Romans which worked for me.

Today, we saw the Vatican musem (Sisten Chapel) and it was pretty much incredible. I hate musems but this one was an exception. Tomorrow morning, we leave the house at 5:30 to check in for our 11:45 flight. I know, "What is she thinking getting there 3 hours early!!!" My grandma is convinced you cannot get on the plane if you are not there that early. If that is the airport's rule and ou cannot get on the plane, I am ticked off. They just want me to spend 5 dollars on a coke!!!

Anyway, this trip has been really awesome and I have learned alot about myself through it. I understand there is no spell check and you are probably thinking can't he just proof read? NO. I am going to bed now. it is 11:40 and I am tired. It is sad that it has come to an end but I am ready for some family and Chick-Fil-A. Good night!!! Pray my flight doesn't crash over the water!!

Bari

Today is the first full day in Bari. For lunch, we went to visit a family that has an incredibly nice house. They have Internet! The 6 course meal was pretty much awesome. First they brought out this Lasagna (NO SPELL CHECK) type dish. It was really taste. I ate a lot no knowing there would be more brought out. Then they brought THREE more dishes/plates of Italion food that I couldn't enjoy do to eating to much ofthe other. Then they bring out this huge bowl of fruit that the host grew himself. Next they finally brought out coffee and desert (CAKE) which I couldn't eat due to my allergy to peanuts. (Probably best)

Before the house, we went through all of these villages and after these vllages, the car stopped at this really old fort ruins/looking place. It turns out that this deserted area was the place the allies took over during world war 2. Now the spcial thing about this place was that my Great Grandfather was the chaplin for this group in the war. Thoughout the war, he baptized over 1500 of the soldiers and citizens while stationed there. I didn't know any of this until my grandma showed me all of this today. I didn't know I had family that had to do with the war.

Tomorrow, we will visit the local Christian Church of where we are staying. The average attendance is around 60 people which is really good compared to most churchesvin the area. It will be strange to hear a whole service in a language I don't understand (Italion) including the sermon....

Wish me luck! I would post pictures of some things but I can't figure this pc out.

Day four...

Day four should be pretty different. We are leaving now to head to the airport to head to Bare, Italy where we will be more on the missionary side. (lots of homeade dinners!!!) We leave Bare on tuesday where we hopfully will go straight to the Coloseum. Wednsday morning, he pope comes out and blesses everyone. Gona go and take some pictures of some blessing!

Everything in Italy is later. People don't wake up till 9:00 in the morning compared to 6:00 in America. Then they don't eat dinner till 8:00 at night!!! my stomache is not the happiest...(it actually is is what is weird) then if they visit another house for dinner that evening, they stay out till 1:00 in the morning usally! Overall, Italy has been exciting so far. The Ice Cream is litterally the best thing I have ever eaten.

March 12 2009...

Today was pretty awesome. Here is the time line.

This morning, 9:00, we left for the catacombs (Like i said previously, no spell check or red curly lines :( sorry...)

We arrived there and took the short tour because we have no time in Italy.

Around ten this morning, we were dropped off (by the host) at the Coloseum.

We found all the information and realized that it is 30 american dollars (15 Euro) to enter the building. Not a huge deal... Next we went to the line and it is a billion years long. So we decided to come back tuesday when we arrive in Rome next week.

Next we walked a huge distance to this church that has a hallway of monk bones that they used to make designs with. (The skulls, ect...EVERYTHING) at the end of the hall way, there was a dead monk holding a sign that said,

"What you are we used to be...What we are you will be..."

thats cool.

Next we went back to this Ice cream place that we went to yesterday that I loved. Got the same thing again. ( i tried a bunch of samples) After that, we saw some more sites which rock sox. Basicly, i would wrtie until the keybored fell off but it is 12:30 am, and my flight for BARE leaves tomorrow at 8:30 and we have to be there two hours earlier. Good night. Pray for me!
P.S, I will post pics of me in the Coloseum, time is just running out and we have to go to another town now!

I am a tourist!!!

So today is the first official day of Italy. Yesterday, up for over 40 hours, I unpacked my things and moved into Italy. Lets start with the flight...

So 10:45 we departed St louis and headed to Cincinati (No Spell Check :( Sorry for this...) we arrived there and 10 minutes before we board our plane to new york, we hear on the lous speaker "We are sorry but due to storms and lack of plane room in new york, Flight "(Bunch of numbers)" will not leave for 3 extra hours" AWESOME... Our flight from new york to Rome leaves at 6:30 and we arrived in new york at 6:35!!!!! So good. After lots of impatience let out, (LONG story short) we took this incredible AIR BUS full of snooty french people. The plane had a plasma tv on each back of each seat!!! I watched High School Musical three all night....

The whole plane was litterally first class. (The Actual first class had really big and fancy chairs and bigger plasmas.)

8:00 am tuesday morning, we arrived in paris.

At noon, (exactly) we arived in ROME. YES ROME!!!

Now after walking over a billion miles, I am resting. (It is 12:19 am) We saw the outside of the Coloseum (the inside closes after 4:30 pm and we got there 5 minutes too late but saw all of the big stuff around it.

Today (yesterday I guess) we went to Vatican City where I SAW THE REAL POPE!!! He blessed a bunch of people. Then we visited all around there. I feel like a tourist walking around in shorts when everyone is dressed in scarfs and gloves.

Overall so far, I have learned that I have a huge love for FLYING, CLOUDS, Italian Ice Cream and Italian sunglasses. Good thing I can wear them...Also, (If anyone reads this lol) the glass bottles up top are full of water and nothing else. I even brought them back with me!!! Good Night!!!

12 hours...

So in less than 12 hours, I will be on a plane headed to Ohio where I will fly to New York where I have a 3 hour layover which will land me on a nonstop 8 hour flight to Italy. I am excited but scared for my life all at the same time. (I don't love flying) Tuesday morning, I arrive in Rome, Italy at 9:00 a.m (2 a.m central time) causing a lot of jet lag. WOOHOO!!!
I cannot wait for the next ten days. I am truely blessed to have the life that I live.
Goodnight!

Italy

Monday morning, I will begin the journey halfway across the world to visit Italy with my grandmother. We leave around 7:30 that morning and return the 18th. (I think) Five awesome things I am expecting to come out of the trip are:

1. Away from everything and everyone for ten days!
2. I have over 20 hours of air time (roundtrip) to do make up school work!
3. I get to see Rome and several other parts of Italy!
4. I get to spend some time with my grandma.
5. Last and NOT least, All expenses are paid!!! (Aparently, she has been saving for this since I was born so I am overjoyed)

Tonight we had practice and I can finally say it is my week to lead with my very good friend. (I lead the band and she leads the congregation) It works really well for us cause I can't sing at this point (taking lessons as we speak) Tonight went really well though. I have had the set up for over 2 months (I lead every month..Shows how far I plan in advance...) Planning this advance allows me the time to prepare and change things around and basically make it perfect and wonderful. I wish I could say this sunday is the same set it was two months ago, but I can't. It is actually completely different and I really hope it goes well Sunday.

Great Weekend!

Hello everyone.
This past weekend has been incredible for me. I attended the anual Disipleship Conference friday and saturday and just really grew with God. The coolest thing I got to experience was this elective Saturday morning that was a video that played and just told us to pray for different things. (Thanking God, Repenting, praying for community and family ect...)

I have understood this for a while but it really opened my eyes when another elective had the phrase, "Worship music itself is actually a VERY VERY small part of worship." I have known and understood this but I feel like I really grasp it now.

It seems like for the last few years of conferences, I attended looking and waiting for something incredible to hit me and change my life when why I was waiting and looking like crazy, I would miss everything important that would have affected me. This weekend, I just decided I was there to get to know God and to worship and glorify him providing me with one of the most incredible weekends ever.

Wednsdays...

Wednsdays always become very busy for myself but, yet they end up being my favorite day of the week. Around a year ago, my youth minister (David Mehrle) decided I should spend the day with him and the rest of the staff learning and experiencing the life of youth ministry.

Whether he gives me a task to do (organizing things) or something like brainstorming with ideas about the upcomming series and the way it should look, flow, ect...

After doing this for a year now, I have realized that although lots of the things he gives me are not that fun, I will not regret it once I get into my own ministry. I look forward to seeing what god has in store for me.

Hello everyone, today and yesterday have been completly awesome. Yesterday, my best friend preached for his first time and nailed it. He really opened my eyes to how big God actually is and how big the Universe is. On a graph, the sun can't even be seen when compared to other stars.

Around 7 months ago, I found this graph of the largest stars compared it our very large world. It really makes you wonder how big God actually is.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1w8hKTJ2Co&eurl=http://planetall.blogspot.com/2008/01/video-with-largest-stars-of-universe.html&feature=player_embedded

It is so weird to think there are things God created so small that we can't even identify, yet you can't even see the sun on the graph because God made even bigger things than us and our little bubble we live in.

A little under a month ago, my youth minister had a meeting with a small group of our youth group to basicly give us a heads up that me might not attend our annual summer conference called Christ in Youth. We found out today that we are offically not going. For the last month, I have really struggled with this whole situation and have had a lot of hard feelings because I thought we should still go and have never before prayed about something like I did about this. I continued to pray that God would help me change my attitude. Nothing ever happened.... Today out of nowhere, I finally just realized there was nothing I could do about the decision made and I felt completly fine about everything. throughout this past weekend, I guess I have really opened my eyes to how blessed I really am and how much I take for granted in life.

The Beginnings

Hello everyone, I can finally say I have a blog now... I am excited to share with you my thoughts on my life and my beliefs and what ever else happens. Also, unless it turns out lame, I will post the top ten funniest/dumbest/best things that happened to me ( and most likely a friend was with me) at the end of each week. Tonight I will only do top 5 since it is my first post. I am also in the process of designing my own page and it is almost done but in the mean time, this will have to do. So here it goes...

1. We drove through McDonalds and the girl (Krystal) taking my money at the register, gave me 97 cents in all nickels (2 pennys) the last time I was there and when I pulled up the other day, she just laughed at me and I was ticked.

2. After splitting up the driving with a friend throughout the day yesterday, we got the finger twice and some other stupid stuff...(not our fault the first time.)

3. Today I found out that Hillsong is coming out with a new album and Taylor Swift is coming to town in April!

4. I heard The Fray literally a thousand times on the radio today. (Worst thing ever)

5. Went to Chick-Fil-A today for the first time in a while. (I work there and still love it. :] )

Tomorrow my best friend gets the opportunity to preach in front of our youth group for the first time. I really am excited to hear God use him like this. Starting tomorrow, I will also add in "my song of the day" (if there is one) Good night everyone!
